Fashion Sketch Pads
For costumers who just arent very good at drawing the human body here is a handly little tool to help you put your design ideas down on paper. The fashion sketch pad gives you a proportioned body on which to draw out your next costume design. Simply sketch the details of the cut and shape of the garment directly onto the pad. Costume sketches are a great tool to help you visualize the style of a costume before you start making it It can also be handy when showing your ideas to clients, troupemates or your seamstress. The beauty of these handy little pads is that they come in an assortment of body styles. No matter if you have a rectangular figure, hourglass, pear-shaped or full all over, there is a reference figure that will approximate your figure type. Never let I cant draw be an excuse to stop you from designing your next ensemble. Available for men, too!
These pads are available through Clotilde.

Aleenes Stiffen Quick Fabric Spray
Perhaps the quickest way to stiffen a bra is by using a fabric stiffener. The easiest product to use a new formulation from Aleenes called Stiffen Quick Fabric Spray. This product makes it very easy to control the amount of stiffener that is being applied. This makes it easy to apply many smooth, even layers and its especially good for using inside a finished bra to nail down the knots and secure the loose threads to extend the life of your garment. I've tried this product, and I have found that it is pretty easy to control the amount of stiffness. It doesn't turn rock-solid, but rather, makes the fabric crisp. It is especially nice to use on molded foam bras that have a little bit of stretch to them.

Styling Design Ruler from Dritz
This is one of the most important design tools that I currently own and use in virtually every design project. This handy item includes four rulers in one to help make alterations or pattern making easier. The armhole curves and hip curves are conveniently marked on the ruler. It includes a straight edge that is marked with an inch grid. The ruler comes packaged with a brief but highly informative guide that illustrates how the ruler can be used to make alterations to commercial sewing patterns. Unlike a set of professional metal curves, this model from Dritz is relatively inexpensive and combines all of the most useful design cuves into one handy tool.
